Within the framework of the project "Tourism, Heritage and Creativity (BSB1130)" ten Bulgarian and Ukrainian tour operators visited Georgia. Together with Georgian tour operators, representatives of the project's partner organizations and members of the steering committee they were acquainted with the cross-border routes prepared within the framework of the project. πͺπΊπThe 3-day informational tour program included Shida Kartli, Kakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti regions and Tbilisi. πͺπΊπAs part of the cross-border tour, the guests got acquainted with the creative tourism offers created within the product development component of the project "Tourism, Heritage and Creativity (THC)" and passed the Georgian part of the cross-border routes. The purpose of the event was to promote the development of networking, so that the participating tour operators can initiate international cooperation with businesses engaged in similar activities in the Black Sea countries. Cross-border infotainment also contributes to the joint promotion of creative tourism destinations. πͺπΊπAt the same time, the authors of the winning ideas in the competition "Innovative Startups of Creative Tourism and Heritage Products" had the opportunity to participate in the cross-border tour program, present their products and services, and meet foreign and local guests. πͺπΊπThe project "Tourism, Heritage and Creativity" (THC 1130) is a joint endeavor of 3 countries - Georgian Arts and Culture Center, Bulgarian - European Institute for Cultural Tourism EUREKA NPO, Ukrainian Foundation for the Development of the City of Mykolaiv, and Gori Municipality City Hall. It aims to bind the tourism and heritage sectors for their mutual advantage. Overall, the objective is to advance businesses within these sectors by developing creative tourism and cultural products based on local heritage assets. The project implementation period is between 26.09.2020 and 26.12.2022. THC is carried out with the support of the ENI CBC Black Sea Basin Programme 2014-2020 and is funded by the European Union. Tour overview June 13 - I day The guests visited the Uplistskhe Museum-Reserve and learned about the history of the region and the museum. In Gori, adjacent to the creative investment workshops, a master class of Georgian folk instruments was held with Tamar Nushelidze, where forgotten Georgian instruments were presented and the guests had the opportunity to play and listen to Georgian melodies. After that, the guests moved to the Tatulashvili ceramics museum and heard the history of Giorgi Tatulashvili's family and Gori glazed ceramics. The guests had the opportunity to see the process of making clay vessels and ask questions to the master's students. At the end of the day, the tour operators visited the IDP settlement of Tserovani and met with the founder of Cloisonné enamel social enterprise "Ikortha" - Nana Tchkareuli and her team; They heard the history of the cultural heritage of Samachablo region and participated in the enamel preparation-painting process. June 14 - Day II The guests visited the village of Ikalto, met Nino Bakhutashvili and the masters employed at the art studio "Pesvebi" in the workshop located near the Ikalto Academy. Art studio "Pesvebi" has been operating since 2006 in Dedoplistskaro and their activities are closely related to the cultural and natural heritage of historical province Kiziki. Carpets and other accessories woven by them best represent the colors and traditions of the region. The "Pesvebi" workshop plans to share its experience and expand similar activities in the village of Ikalto. The guests visited the Ikalto Academy and learned about its history. After, tour operators visited the historical districts of Telavi "Matsantsara" and "Dabakhnebi" and took part in the tour organized by Maia Mamulashvili - "Tales of Craftsmen Street". Tour operators had the opportunity to taste traditional Kakhetian dishes and listen to the stories of old Telavi. The guests of the project were also hosted by the Telavi Historical Museum. The visitors viewed both local artifacts and works of art, visited the king's palace and took photos of the magnificent views of the Alazni Valley. The tour continued to "Mamukelashvili Wine Cellar" in Kurdglauri, where a costumed, staged wine tour and a photo session were held in the ancient authentic folklore environment of the "Mamukelashvili Winery" with the direct participation of Tea Makhatelashvili and visitors. June 15 - Day III After visiting Old Tbilisi and hearing the history of its development, the guests went to the village of Tsodoreti - to the "Museum of Georgian Gastronomic Culture" and were hosted by culturologist and TV presenter Esma Kunchulia. During the master class, the guests had the opportunity to listen to the history of Georgian cheese and participate in the master class of making Sulguni, to taste a variety of Georgian dishes and wines.
